You know those days when you’re feeling a bit ‘eh’, and then you hear a song you love and you sing along a bit, and then you feel a bit brighter?
Okay maybe it’s just me. No I know it’s not
There’s quite a bit of research into the way music affects our brain, from increasing a factor that protects our neurons from the effects of stress, to decreasing a factor that reacts to stress. So if you’ve ever played music when you’re feeling ordinary, and noticed this increase, it’s not just because you started doing something different.
What got me thinking about this the new freebie on the site I’ve just written, Ten Tips To Love Your Body, which is available as a free poster (just fill in the form at the bottom of this page) you can print and pop onto your wall.
So – here’s ten songs that make me feel grrrrrrrreat! Not the definitive list and not in any particular order, but a good start on any slow day – please feel free to add your own below
and please, listen to them thinking about YOU and YOUR body….

It’s amazing how music can completely change our attitude. I love the Goo Goo Dolls. I call it my “beautiful music” because that’s how I feel when I listen to it for some reason. Their song “Slide” says it all: “What you feel is what you are and what you are is beautiful.”

@Sandy, Glad you like it! Thought you would… I even made a ‘collage’ of it .. with all my own photos which was fun. I really related to it so well, so easily found relevant photos ( (yep! my swish red dress! ) It really encouraged me when I was at a particularly challenging time in my life.. : )
