Keeping Track of Water

water-bottle-4

We all know we probably don’t drink enough water on any given day, and when you’re focussing on drinking more water it’s easy to lose count.

I don’t know about you but I’m really not into keeping a little chart and ticking a lil box every time I fill my glass – like, what?

BUT since speaking to wellness experts every single week on the Body Bliss Cafe, and having nearly every single one of them talk about drinking more water, I’ve been a bit hyper-aware of how much I’m NOT drinking. (and that’s after I have my morning lemon water)

I remembered a little trick I read somewhere about an easy way to keep track of how much water you drink during the day.

I tried it, and it works.

water-bottle-3 It’s this:

Get a water bottle. Mine is 500ml or two cups.

I’m aiming to drink 2 litres a day (68 fluid ounces).

That’s four x 500ml bottles.

So I should be able to remember to count to four during the day right?

I’m convinced that as we get older our brains get full. That’s my story anyway πŸ™‚ Shorter story – I am not sure I’ll remember the count!

Solution:

I took four bands out of my hair-tidy container.

I put them onto the bottle near the bottom. Every time I drink all the water in the bottle I move the band to the top of the bottle.

And again.

And again.

And again.

Voila. 2 litres of water. Drunk and tracked. Baby πŸ™‚

I did think about using a bigger bottle, but needing to get up and walk to the kitchen and refill my bottle is part of another strategy to move more and sit head-in-screen less.

I don’t remember where I saw this – probably LifeHacker πŸ™‚ But simple and clever hey πŸ™‚

So will you do it?
