Cyndi O’Meara is a revolutionary Nutritionist – she is the author of the bestselling books ‘Changing Habits Changing Lives’ and the ‘Changing Habits Changing Lives Cookbook’. I first came across Cyndi’s work about 10 years ago – I was browsing in a book shop and I can honestly say this book did change my life and my family’s life. I was just at the point of being really over the diet roundabout, and Cyndi’s common sense guide to food was the tonic that I needed. It helped me return to the good healthy home cooking I’d learnt from my mum and my grandmother, and it expanded that even further into some interesting ingredients that I’d never heard of.
I call her a revolutionary Nutritionist, because she was one of the first that I knew of, to disagree with the low calorie and low fat diets, and to warn us about the dangers of transfats. My favourite was she said chocolate can be good for you, and that yummy food is an important part of your daily diet!
Cyndi has degrees from Melbourne’s Deakin University and the University of Colorado, she’s completed post graduate studies in human anatomy, pathology and physiology. She writes for newspapers and magazines around Australia. She appears regularly on TV and she is an in demand key note speaker at national and international conferences.
